The main altar in St. Nicholas Church, Oberndorf. Franz Gruber and Rev. Joseph Mohr stood in front of this altar with the choir when they introduced "Silent Night" in 1818.
The Silent Night Chapel built on the site of the main altar of St. Nicholas Church. The church was torn down early this century after the foundations had been badly eroded by the constant flooding of the nearby Salzach River.
